Segway Owner dies in tragic Segway accident. Heres how I picture it.

Many of you have probably heard about the tragically ironic death of Jimi Heselden, the owner of the Segway company, who died at the hands of his own creation.

 

British police say they believe Mr. Heselden died while testing an all-terrain equipped Segway and lost control and drove the machine off a cliff near his estate in Leeds.

 

First of all my condolences to his family and friends, death is never easy. But at least he died doing what he was passionate about so theres that. And, I feel horrible but I cannot stop laughing at this story not because death is funny but because this is the mental image I get when reading the story...

 

FYI that is not Jimi Heselden in the picture, that would be in even more poor taste than this blog already is.

You gonna get draped!

So I may be late to the Mad Men party (I know sacrilegious considering Im an ad nerd) but Im making up for it by not only marathoning the series but now Im on a mission to coin a term..."draped."

Lets face it....Don Draper is one sexy man beast. Much like how everyone in the world wants to do horrible unclean naughty things to Joan Holloway, everyone (male, female, straight, gay, bi, asexual, etc) wants Don Draper to do horrible unclean naughty things to them. All Don Draper has to do is look at someone and their clothes fall off.

I dont think I necessarily have to explain what "draped" means. If youve watched Mad Men you know that being "draped" is when Don Draper does whatever Don Draper wants to someone and theyre ok with it because well...its Don Draper. Doesnt matter how inappropriate or wrong it is, if it was anyone else youd be horrified but because its Don Draper its totally cool.

So next time youre walking down a dark alley and you see Jon Hamm in a suit smoking smoking a cigarette and he looks at you with those Draper eyes just know youre about to get "draped"....but youre totally ok with it.

I like that it has wings...why does it have wings?!?! I want to see other shots of this thing mainly because I hope there are some sweet flames painted on the sides. Or better yet, sweet flames dyed into the dogs fur. Straigh pimpin.

Anyone else remember this Gap commercial featuring Janelle Monae?

I was looking up old Gap holiday ads today when I suddenly came across an image that reminded me...Gap totally used Janelle Monae in their Merry MixIt series of commercials 2 years ago! Anyone who hasnt been living in a cave for the last year knows that Ms Monae has exploded onto the music scene with her sultry voice and old school funky rhythm and style. Apparently Gap saw this coming a mile away and opted to use her in one of their videos...a wise decision because I remember this one being my favorite out of the series.

Well played Gap, well played.

On that note I totally want Janelle Monae to do a holiday album...I would play the hell out of it year round.
